Ratatat

Ratatat

Wow. Yesterday an ATM spit out an extra $40 at me, and now this!?

Apparently they’re going on after those Sub-Pop indie superstars, and I really hope I can just show up and dance, without subjecting myself to emo swaying for an hour beforehand, but either way, Mike Stroud and Evan Mast are headed to Pipeline on July 23rd. That’s one week folks.

On a side-note, I just found out that Evan is half of the Mast clan that runs Audio Dregs, which I just saw on a Cool Hunting video. The world is slightly smaller now.

Update: Photos from the show are now online.

HIFF 10th Annual Spring Showcase

HIFF 10th Annual Spring Showcase

The Hawaii International Film Festival’s 10th annual Spring Showcase kicks off tonight with screenings of 200 Pounds Beauty and Hula Girls.

HIFF has also produced a Deep Focus podcast for the Spring Showcase, featuring the sultry voice of Anderson Le, the Festival’s Director of Programming. In the podcast Anderson gives his thoughts and comments regarding several films, a great listen for any serious Festival attendee.

My picks include Red Road, Trade, Tekkon Kinkreet and Inland Empire.
