Mark your calendars, a benefit for Sergio’s son Gabriel Kapuni Goes will be held on the 14th of September. Sounds like it’s gonna be a great event. Details below.
On Sunday, September 14th from 5-9 pm at Waterfront at the Aloha Tower (formerly Kapono’s), we will be gathering to celebrate the life of Sergio Goes and have a Benefit Fundraiser for his young son, Gabriel Kapuni Goes. Please feel free to pass the word around.
Music by Mike Love, The Girlas, Paula Fuga, performances by Giinko Marachino & Samadhi Hawaii (acrobats) are slated. There will be an exhibition and sale of Sergio’s photographic works.
ASWS got a sneek peek at the photos to be showcased at the event, they’re some of the illiest underwater photos we’ve ever seen. Check out Sergio’s last photo shoot for Hana Hou Magazine or visit his website for more of his work.
Pau Hana Friday is back! Friday, February 15th at 6:00p we’ll be hosting Audible Empire at our Kaimuki studio.
What’s Pau Hana Friday? Well, it’s our studio open house that encourages creative networking and discussion. Everyone is welcome to join us and bring a six-pack of their favorite brew to unwind at the end of the work week. Bonus points for Tamura’s jalepeno pipikaula.
Things kick-off at 6:00 p.m. and we’ve invited our friends Audible Empire to bring their amps and cymbals for a sweaty rock set. Some other creative endeavors will be happening as well.
Saturday, December 29th at rRed Elephant APB will premiere “The Struggle”. The doors open at 5:30p and the action kicks off at 6p. Even better, it’s free. More info and video outtakes at APB.
Word on the street is that ELECTROMA is close to sold out (about 30 tickets left), and CONTROL is close behind. But don’t fret, you can still win tickets to both films!
We have a few tickets to give away to anyone who can prove their love for JOY DIVISION or DAFT PUNK. Send us an image that shows you are the biggest Joy Division or Daft Punk fan in Hawaii. Dig out those mod pictures from the 80’s or get cracking on some fancy helmets.
Please email your image to contest@airspaceworkshop.com. Deadline for entries is Thursday afternoon at 5pm. 5 winners will be selected for each screening and notified via email.
Airspace Workshop is proud to sponsor the Hawaii International Film Festival’s Sound + Vision program, featuring Anton Corbijn’s CONTROL and Daft Punk’s ELECTROMA. Both films screen Friday October 26th, with CONTROL kicking things off at 9:30p and ELECTROMA following at midnight.
We’ve got some tickets to give away, so stay tuned to our microsite for an opportunity to win a pair (once we figure out a clever way to give them away).
Congrats to HIFF on their 27th year! The 2007 Fall Festival kicks off tomorrow.
Be on the lookout for these guys rocketing over Waikiki tomorrow afternoon at 1430 hours. If you’re lucky, maybe you’ll actually witness your tax dollars vaporizing at the speed of sound.
Wow. Yesterday an ATM spit out an extra $40 at me, and now this!?
Apparently they’re going on after those Sub-Pop indie superstars, and I really hope I can just show up and dance, without subjecting myself to emo swaying for an hour beforehand, but either way, Mike Stroud and Evan Mast are headed to Pipeline on July 23rd. That’s one week folks.
On a side-note, I just found out that Evan is half of the Mast clan that runs Audio Dregs, which I just saw on a Cool Hunting video. The world is slightly smaller now.
