We live where?

July’s issue of Monocle gives Hawai’i a tip of the hat for being one of the ‘most liveable’ cities in the world (actually twice, #9 and #12). Coming out ahead of every major city in the US, according to Monocle, Hawaii has more in common with the European flavored metropolis. Dwell’s latest issue interviews Architect Dean Sakamoto about the state of Architecture in Honolulu. It’s a critical look at the cities lack of standards regarding well designed architecture in the past few decades, with a hope for future builders to learn from the cities past masters. The Monocle issue is heavy with articles and interviews for upgrading the urban landscape, required reading for all you future planners (or City Officials). If you want more from your humble little city, bike (or walk) down to your local magazine rack to see the future. You stay classy Honolulu.
